◈ 작품소개
얇은 커튼 너머로 마르크스와 김일성의 초상화가 보이는 것을 막기 위해,
그녀는 두터운 파란 커튼을 달았다.
어린 아들이 초상화를 보고 놀라 기절하는 것을 막기 위한 단순한 모정이었다.
그러나 체제의 눈은 이를 개인의 문제가 아닌 정치적 결함으로 규정했다.
인민반장과 마을 사람들은 그녀가 아이에게 올바른 정치교육을 하지 않았다며 몰아세우고,
집단사상투쟁이 벌어진다.
이 장면은 사소한 ‘다름’조차 용납하지 않는 사회의 잔혹함과,
아이마저 정치범이 되어 무참히 짓밟히는 현실을 상징적으로 드러낸다.
